Principal Speaks

I have had an eventful and fulfilling career as a teacher handling Social Science for over a quarter of a century. I am now embarking with a new perspective as Principal on the same journey.

It is indeed a challenging time to don the topmost position in the school hierarchy. These past two years have been a roller coaster ride with covid taking the front seat. Post covid the scars remain and seem almost indelible.

The minimum learning levels achieved in the past so many years have taken a severe beating. Children have been set back by at least two years of learning and development. Children have either become too reticent and lazy or aggressively boisterous with no respect for authority. In such a scenario teachers as warriors are working against the tide. The damage has to be rectified and restored and this is indeed a yeoman task.

Self motivation is the key. The need of the hour is for teachers to be self motivators with a deep sense of altruism. It is only with concerted care and concern that the teaching fraternity can bring about a change in our students the light of the future.

I sincerely believe we can make the change if we can set our minds and heart. It is a huge responsibility and seems insurmountable. But little strokes fell great oaks…….
